Come friendly bombs
And fall on John

Was way too long.

Teddys, teas, walks
And churches.
From crass to smug
To twee he lurches.

Chuntered metre,
Leaden rhymes
Reminds us of the
Golden times

When we were safe
To sound like asses;
Safe to chat up
Tennis lasses.

Protected from
The common masses,
We simple-minded
Middle Classes.
